The ranking is based on several factors, including depth and overall star power. It’s also a perfect time for us to roll out our 32-team NHL Prospect Pool Breakdown Series, looking at the strengths, weaknesses, and top prospects for every single team. He likes to slow the pace down – don’t look for him to make high-end scoring plays any time soon. But he did have his best AHL season to date, registering 20 points while playing more than 20 minutes a night. Iorio didn’t return for NHL action this past season after playing nine games over the previous two years. Parascak is excellent with the puck and is as smart a distributor as you’ll find in Washington’s system. Gästrin is set to play in the Allsvenskan, where I think he’ll be counted on to be good in defensive zone situations.

The Rangers’ opening-night roster may consist of a number of young players, including Othmann, Perreault, Morrow, and Brett Berard. Grebenkin has also figured out how to use his size to push opponents around – so much so that I can see him becoming a solid support player in the bottom six. Grebenkin does an excellent job of cycling the puck. I think Vansaghi already possesses many pro traits, such as a good work ethic, a powerful release and a commitment to two-way dominance.

Beyond Gabe Perreault and Brennan Othmann, I’m not sure that’s going to change any time soon, but there are a few decent trade chips if they need them. Chaz Lucius, Brad Lambert and Dmitri Rashevsky are more than capable of putting pucks in the net, too. That includes Jakob Pelletier, Connor Zary and Jeremie Poirier, three prospects you’d hope will take big steps this year into becoming legitimate long-term options. The group is highlighted by Dalibor Dvorsky, who has top-line center potential. With such a strong success rate at promoting talent to the big club, Dallas’ prospect pool is a little depleted. Few teams have managed to snag as much talent in the latter rounds as the Hurricanes in recent years.

They’ve got plenty of defenders with NHL potential, too. Alexander Nikishin is ready to take the next step, while a few others should see some NHL games, too. While the Yzerplan hasn’t panned out into any tangible NHL success, you can’t argue with the talent waiting in the wings. There’s a high likelihood that defenseman Zayne Parekh will be in the NHL to start the season, with many believing he’ll stick around for the majority of the year. The Flames might not have much going for them in the NHL, but there are some Prospect pipeline nice pieces coming along throughout the deep pipeline.

Pickford was just awarded the 2026 Four Broncos Memorial Trophy as the WHL Player of the Year, becoming the first defenseman to win the MVP award since 2008. He is expected to join the Rocket next season to bring some aggression, physicality and a workhorse capable of playing heavy minutes. His game isn’t about flashy stats; it’s about a “monopoly on violence,” using bone-crushing hits and intelligent checking to keep attackers to the perimeter.

He’s not a crushing presence, but he’s competitive and strong enough to win out most individual battles. It’s like Holinka needs to feel threatened that he’ll lose ice time if he doesn’t make the right move quicker. Holinka’s first step looks better than it did before the draft — he’s still not quick, but he’s quicker. Scouts like how he supports his defenders and that he’s willing to block shots and get in the way of scoring chances. In Kingston, he’s a smart, two-way center whom you can rely on in the D-zone. He was much better in the AHL, but still struggled a bit more than the Maple Leafs organization would have probably liked to see.

In 2024, Vanderbilt did not have a first-round pick for the first time since 2018 but had seven players selected overall, including six in the top 10 rounds. He is 10 for 27 from the plate in six games for Single-A Fort Myers this season and has impressed with his shortstop defense. Minnesota's first pick in the 2025 draft, Marek Houston, debuts as the No. 8 prospect in the organization. With the busy trade deadline — especially for the Twins organization — wrapped up and new players settled into new locations, MLB Pipeline has updated their top 30 prospects for each organization. It doesn’t hurt that he’s been quite productive in the AHL the past few years.

But I think Kapanen has a better chance of becoming a full-time NHLer – albeit in a more minor role. But his increased proficiency with the puck last year was a good sign. He continued to improve as the season progressed, and he demonstrated a level of aggressiveness I had never seen before. He’s crafty, smart and dangerous in open space – he’s easily one of the best players out of Russia. He definitely needs to add more muscle but if he can even add 15 pounds, he’d be significantly tougher to steal the puck off of. Zharovsky was one of the biggest risers this year, and a guy many scouts are excited about.

But raw numbers of Top 100 prospects don’t tell the whole story. All 30 farm clubs have at least one prospect on this year’s list. Angels right-hander Caden Dana (No. 78) is the lowest pick in this year’s crop, having been taken in the 11th round out of a New Jersey high school in 2022.

The Seattle Mariners led all teams with seven top 100 prospects, followed by the Cleveland Guardians with six and the Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Dodgers, Miami Marlins, Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago White Sox each with five. The silver lining is that with a full season from the 2025 draft class, the Cubs' farm system is headed back in the right direction. Matt Shaw and Cade Horton have graduated to the major league level, and Owen Caissie was traded to the Miami Marlins during the offseason.

This year, all three of those Mets prospects are back on the list, joined by outfielder A.J. Across three innings of work, Perry allowed just one hit and two walks while punching out seven Reading players. The right-hander would make seven starts for the Canadians, posting a 3.23 ERA through 30.2 innings with a 1.24 WHIP. He appeared in five games for Single-A Dunedin, allowing just four earned runs and eight hits across 21 innings before earning a promotion to High-A Vancouver in early May. After missing all of last season due to injury, Perry has skyrocketed through the farm system.

The upside isn’t high – I don’t expect him to explode offensively – but I like him. While Barkey isn’t big at 5-foot-10, I think he’s versatile enough to play anywhere in the lineup. If he can clean up his puck play and add a bit more pace, Bonk could end up becoming a big piece of the future.
